Auditor Passwords sent to the Treasurer

Dear Verlon,

I hope all is well for you and your Conference.

Here at Jewel we are constantly working on improving our product and also making it more secure for you.

The Jewel Auditor program for the Auditor's use now requires a password in order to get onto our server to retrieve the databases of your churches. For your improved control over that feature, it is important that you are the person who decides who receives a password. Then when a worker is no longer working for you, that password can be disabled. The unemployed worker may retain the program on their computer, but will not have access to all your church's databases.

This may not be a concern for you, and that is fine. But we offer this feature for your benefit. So you are free to handle this as you deem best. In the future, we will not be giving passwords directly to an Auditor.

Here are two logins and passwords. Login: sec1 Password: xxx

Login: sec2 Password: xxx

If you need more, just let me know.

All the best,

PROMOTION AND TRANSITIONING LETTER

Good morning Jim,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Jewel is a mature cash accounting program designed for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Jewel was put into use in 1999, about 25 years ago. Jewel has grown with the technology of our times, providing innovation as the opportunities have increased. In that time AdventistGiving and eAdventist have been created which provides new dimensions to Adventist giving and accounting. We use both in Jewel, including importing AdventistGiving directly into Jewel.

In reference to the Jewel Church Accounting System, it has grown over the years because it started with only the Church accounting software. Latter the Auditor program was added to assist in tech support and auditing. No other Adventist software has an auditing program. Over a dozen years ago we added Reporter so our System. Reporter moves the Jewel Remittance information into AASI (the Conference software) without typing it again. With only a few clicks of the mouse, Reporter also collects the Remittances using ACH. Again, no other SDA software is available to save the time and money that Jewel does for the Conference. This is only a thumbnail sketch as to why your Conference is recommending Jewel to all their Churches. Conferences also know the time - and therefore the cost - of the Auditors trying to learn the many different programs - not written for SDA accounting. Reports are different, processes are different, tech support is impossible and yet the churches often need assistance. It is far more efficient for a Conference to standardize its software than to spend extra money on staff to try to work with many different systems.

Now you can see just a few of the reasons why 34 of the 51 Conferences in the US use Jewel for their Accounting System. While it may inconvenience you in the transition, I believe you will be rewarded with Jewels simplicity, speed and clean and clear reports as well as our superior tech support.

Jewel has a support team that is experienced in transitioning you as well as continuing support.

Jewel will import your names list. This includes donors and vendors. It does not import financial data. That is not viable from an unrelated database.

We would suggest you transition in January so you can send receipts from just one software system. Then you can start Jewel with January beginning balances.

Jewel has a very short learning curve do to it's unique design. This design will save you accounting time and simplify the accounting process. Many Treasurers say they enter their envelopes in half the time. Then there is the importing of AdventistGiving. There are churches using Jewel from 2 members to churches with thousands of members. We welcome you to the family of Adventist Jewel users that is somewhere around 2 Treasurers out of 3 in the entire United States.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
